Brian’s passion for Afro-Cuban Music and Drumming has led to his study and knowledge of the history and culture of the Pan-Caribbean Diaspora.

Topics of the lecture may include:

• The Origin of the Afro-Cuban percussion section.
• The adaptation of traditional Afro-Caribbean rhythms for Drum Set.
• Social and Historical relevance of each percussive instrument.
• The Introduction of Cuban Music to the United States
• Pan Caribbean Cultural and Musical Acceptance.

Lecture/Clinics can be coupled with live performances to include demonstrations of the techniques, styles and cultural blending of the music presented. These performances can include solo demonstrations by Brian or include numerous other musicians from the Afro-Cuban Jazz Cartel.
