Born and raised in the Bay Area, Gloria Amaral comes from a musical family. Exposed at an early age to Classical, Brazilian, Jazz, Salsa, and R & B, Gloria naturally gravitated towards music. Singing professionally since the age of 24, she took private voice lessons from Jackie Hairston, and classical with Rick Fox at Golden Gate University.

She eventually formed her own salsa group, Dulcemambo, leading and directing the 12 piece orchestra comprised of mostly women. It was during this time that she joined the all woman Jazz and Fusion group Wild Mango as lead singer. In addition, she joined another woman lead band, Orq D’Soul. (ODS) Gloria has shared the stage with Linda Ronstadt and the Oakland Symphony. Gloria continues to sing with many of the top Bay Area musical ensembles, compose and record music, and pursue her first love, Jazz.
